FLEXOTECNICA F12 WIN PRESTIGIOUS TECHNOLOGY AWARD FOR BEST INNOVATION

Flexotecnica are proud to announce their success in the 2008 FlexoTech Awards as winner of the award for “Innovation in Printing Press/Finishing”. The annual event was held in London on Wednesday 15th October at the spectacular Hilton Metropole Hotel

Flexotecnica entered their new “F12”, 12 colour CI flexopress which was recently launched at Drupa 2008. The F12 beat off stiff competition from around the Flexo industry and fellow finalists from Omet Srl and Apex Europe Bv and the award was presented to Maria Costantino, Marketing Manager by England’s Rugby Union World Cup Winner, Matt Dawson. The event was attended by over 500 printers and suppliers from all corners of the European community, print quality was celebrated by entries on film, paper and board from narrow to wide web substrates. The F12, the world’s first 12 colour wide web CI flexopress, incorporates numerous important innovations to optimise flexopress productivity and efficiency.Twelve colours around a single CI means infinite combinations of colours, special primer coatings, special motives with sophisticated graphic artwork and the demand of a finish over-lacquer can all be achieved on the F12 without jeopardizing the production speeds.To ensure utmost flexibility in utilizing 12 print units combined with a drastic reduction of the press downtime, the F12 incorporates the SSC® system (Safe Sleeve Change) developed by Flexotecnica that incorporates individual unit shutter guards to cover the CI and individual unit entry guards to allow the make-ready of idle print units whilst the remainder are in print in the safest and most practical way.Another new feature, “WiPC – Wireless Press Control” utilizes advanced WiFi technology and readily available PDA handsets that allows operators to conveniently control press speeds, substrate tensions, dryer temperatures, impression and register settings and many more from any position around the machine. .The design of the print deck is further enhanced by a new “Pipeless” doctor chamber design that removes all ink piping from the operating area to outside the machines substantial side frames.The F12 can be viewed at Flexotecnica’s production headquarters in Tavazzano, Lodi where the machine was demonstrated on 29th, 30th and 31st October during a Open House printing with one 6 colour job whilst preparing the next 6 colour job, highlighting its productivity to numerous clients coming from different foreign countries interested in this award winning machine.
